When I arrived to conduct the free consultation with Stephanie, the 81 year old had been praying with her rosary beads in hand. With tears in her eyes she said, “I’m supposed to move to Upstate New York to be with my niece and I’m so OVERWHELMED! There is so much to do and I have no idea where to start or what I need to take.”

From that point on, myself and the Life Easier team took over.

We gently worked with Stephanie removing everything in her home room by room, categorizing it and discussing what she wanted to keep, donate, or trash. We helped her sell large furniture pieces she could not take with her and arranged for the sale of her car. Donations were removed and taken to the charities of her choice. Life Easier brought the donation receipts back for Stephanie’s future tax return.

When she had problems connecting with the closing attorney to complete the sale of her townhome, a Life Easier team member worked with the attorney’s office and Stephanie to ensure the paperwork was completed and handed in on time.

The Life Easier team then packed the Keep items, took them to the UPS store and arranged for shipment to a colleague in upstate New York who delivered and unpacked the shipment in Stephanie’s new independent living facility apartment.
